For People Who Are HIV Positive or have AIDS
AIDS Help is able to assist the entire HIV+ population of Monroe County. Subject to funding, there is no charge for the following services that can be made available to you.
1. Individual counseling to help you with the feelings, frustrations, and other problems you may face.
2. Extended counseling for your care giver(s), friends, family, and significant other who want to help you live better and healthier.
3. Information and assistance in applying for financial benefits and medical assistance.
4. Referral to other agencies that may be able to help.
5. Meeting with groups and other HIV+ individuals who can give you emotional and social support to help you cope with every day challenges.
6. Information about insurance continuation programs.
7. Assistance in obtaining legal information and consultation at no cost, in certain instances.
8. Volunteers who can help you with domestic, transportation, shopping, recreation, and social needs.
9. Printed and taped audiovisual educational materials about HIV spectrum, special cleanliness and nutritional needs, drug treatments, safer sex, stress reduction, adherence to care programs, and the psychological aspects of living with a HIV positive diagnosis.
10. Information about new therapies and drugs, alternative treatments, wellness programs, and the locations of current drug trials.
11. AIDS Help has clients from Key West to Key Largo. In addition to serving the HIV+ population, we offer Outreach/Prevention, Education, and Testing services to residents of Monroe County-and to many visitors. Our expanded services include both financial and medical assistance to men, women, children, and families who are in need.
