Volunteer Positions Needed - Volunteer Application (Word Document)
Volunteer services through AIDS Help, Inc. are varied, invaluable, and available to all clients. All volunteers are required to be train and to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements. We have two "buddy programs" available and a support program for families of clients. Ask your Case Manager if you would like any of these volunteer services, or have a special need where a volunteer could help.
BUDDY PROGRAMS
- The TELE-BUDDY program is a telephone contact service. Trained volunteers are assigned from 1-5 clients who they phone on a frequent basis. They offer emotional support and a listening ear. Generally these volunteers do not provide face-to-face volunteer services.
- The BUDDY PROGRAM where volunteers receive in-depth training to be both a knowledgeable and sensitive friend for a client. A client and Buddy may be matched at any time in one's association with AIDS Help. You and your Buddy will maintain a positive relationship throughout the changes in your life and in your health status.
- FAMILIES IN CRISIS: Many clients have families who choose to be with them during extreme crisis such as times of hospitalizations, radical changes in health status, or when death is imminent. As we all know, lodging in Key West is extremely expensive and life in a hotel is cold and isolating. In consideration of this, AHI will attempt to provide space in an available residential unit or within the general community. Please be aware that space is limited and subject to availability.
